Rules

1. All images should be taken as of November 1, 2018, and supplied with a title/caption, including the date and location of the shot. Entrants must supply their name, email address and age;
2. Entries should be submitted via email to entries@essenceoforkney.co.uk;
3. Digital image files (from both digital cameras and smartphones) must be at least 1Mb;
4. All entries must be received by Thursday, January 31, 2019. Late, incomplete or corrupt entries will not be accepted;
5. Entrants under the age of 16 must obtain the consent of a parent or guardian prior to submitting any images;
6. The judges’ decisions (whether in relation to determining any shortlists, runners-up, or winners) are final;
7. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the consent of anyone who is identifiable, or owns any property in that image. Consent of parents/guardians should be sought if those pictured are under-16, and they should be  advised that their photograph may be published by The Orcadian/our partners;
8. Entrants must ensure that the photographs they are submitting are their own work, that they own the copyright for them and that they do not infringe the copyright or other rights of any third party or any laws;
9. Entrants will retain copyright and moral rights in their submitted images, however, by entering, all entrants grant The Orcadian non-exclusive rights to use the images for publicity and promotion purposes, with full picture credits attached;
10. Prizes are non-transferable and there are no cash alternatives;
11. The winners may be required to take part in publicity, and their details may be published by The Orcadian and on social media pages held by our associates/sponsors.
